ITHACA,
home to Douglas and Bernadette Bernon, lies at Sylvester
Cove at the northern end of Deer Isle on a sparkling
August day, 2005. That night we enjoyed a true
yachtsman's treat with the Bernons and Besty Gooding!
Cocktails on the porch, above and right, culminating
with a spectacular sunset over Ilesboro to the Camden
Hills. And a delightful lobster supper in the
house, punctuated by constant efforts to keep the
scrappy terriers in separate rooms! Delightful in
every way: thank you Betsy!
And
below, after a blustery sail to Carver's Cove at the
east end of the Fox Islands Thorofare, and a wonderful
dinner aboard ITHAKA, they waved goodby as we went our
separate ways (for a few days, at least!).
