 Ekaterina is
Sabre 386 #225. Her owner, Michael, took her on a
delightful adventure in her first year, completing the
Caribbean 1500 successfully. Here are a few photos
that Michael sent.
"The
Caribbean 1500 included a couple of days of mid 40 knot
winds and 25 ft seas which made living below with 4 guys
pretty interesting. Many items and people went flying,
including my laptop several times. Waves through the
main hatch ( with 2 hatchboards always fixed ), head
door latch totally mangled with a body check, all of us
covered with bruises by the end of the trip. The
handholds on this boat are excellent, but it took some
practice. Most of all though was the complete confidence
we all developed in the boat after getting used to the
sight of huge waves rearing up from behind. I will
definately set out on more long range trips again but
for now Casco Bay and Down East will be fine."
