The
Varnish Shop - Monday, April 11
Virtually all Sabre
sailboats and power boats have varnished cherry
interiors. The components are CAD-drawn,
computer-cut and hand assembled. They are also all
varnished by hand, not sprayed, and the varnish crew
does a wonderful job achieving a lovely finish.
Most of our interior is
complete and installed, but the final trim, and the
doors and drawers, are in the final stages of varnish on
April 11.
Here are a few shots of pieces going through the final
TLC in the varnish shop.
To the right are some
of the port-light trim pieces, and below, two cabin
doors and the magazine rack that sits behind the salon
table when it is folded against the bulkhead.

Someone at
Sabre may correct me on this, but are those baking racks
(below left) being used as drying racks? Nothing
like a little innovation to find creative solutions!
And on the right, Mary demonstrates the good work that
she and her teammates do for Sabre and their customers.
These are all pieces of ESMERALDE she is working on.
You can see the refer door with the handle in the center
of the photo.
